Pinewood Derby WINNERS

On Wednesday, June 2, we concluded the 2010 Pinewood Derby. As always it was the fastest hour for our Church family, as cars raced by at break-neck speeds. We handed out several awards based on creativity and design. Even the people voted for their favorites. People’s Choice Awards went to Noah Puckett, Emily Puckett and Morgan Smith. But at the end of the night, it was Emily Puckett’s school bus that proved to be the fastest car. Congratulations Emily, our Grand Champion!

Thank you to Eileen Smith who directed this year’s Derby. Thanks also to everyone who helped, from cutting the wood to judging and fixing cars, and even to those who cleaned anything that happened to be on the floor. It was another great year!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is Sunday, August 1 – Thursday, August 5. 

But before we get to VBS, we are going to promote in fun new ways. 

Pre-VBS Block Party, Saturday, July 31, 4-7pm.

 Just before the High Seas Adventure starts, we want to have some fun with our neighborhood and invite them to have some fun with us. We’ll bring out the food and the Bounce House and voila, a party!

This year we are taking a hint of VBS out to 5 locations.

Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, is here with answers, insight and solutions to one of the biggest challenges every parent encounters: discipline.

Essentials of Discipline features the most up-to-date research on parenting, humorous animated vignettes, “mom (and dad) on the street” interviews and the kind of practical, approachable teaching that can only come form America's most trusted authority on parenting issues, Dr. James Dobson.

We’ll be starting this series on February 10. Rick Swaim will be leading this group on Wednesday nights during kidZone. Childcare will be available. Participant books are $10 each. Sign up outside the office.
